Although every woman, without exception, goes through this transition in the middle of her life, the subject of menopause is still under-discussed and most women (and men) don't know exactly what it means or what it involves. Overall, this is still a largely taboo subject; part of the reason is that women were not among the doctors and specialists who studied the subject and invented the term in the first place. Therefore, behind this question are centuries of misinformation and misogyny, leading to misconceptions about the subject and a shame to talk about it.
The fact that we ignore and/or avoid talking about menopause is a major problem because it concerns the health of every woman — both physical and mental — and the issue is a fundamental human right. Recognizing that this taboo is a problem and informing women about menopause and its consequences is a way to empower and emancipate women.
Fortunately, we have seen changes in recent years, and in the UK, for example, more and more women and health professionals are talking about menopause and its effects on health — including yoga teachers like Petra Coveney, founder of Yoga for Menopause.
Yoga for Menopause is a style of yoga designed to give tools to women in order to help them cope with the main symptoms of menopause. This yoga promotes a positive approach, considering menopause as a bio-psycho-socio-spiritual transition in a woman's life and not as an end in itself. In particular, this approach proposes:
Postures adapted to release tension, reduce inflammation and joint pain and promote digestion.
Adapted movements to maintain mobility and strength, and improve posture and balance.
Breathing exercises to ease hot flashes and anxiety
Relaxation and mindfulness techniques to promote relaxation, emotional regulation and improve sleep.
A space for information and understanding the bio-psycho-social changes related to this phase of life.
The goal of Yoga for Menopause is tonotify And ofempower women, so that they can embrace the emotional, physical and psychological upheavals that they face with greater serenity.

Trained by Petra Coveney, founder of Menopause Yoga and author of “Menopause Yoga — A Holistic Guide To Supporting Women On Their Menopause Journey”, I include in my workshops:
adapted yoga postures
targeted breathing exercises
Guided relaxation practices
moments of mindfulness
practical advice and scientific resources
Each workshop also includes a circle of words, in order to promote free expression and mutual support in an intimate and confidential setting. These spaces are an invitation to slow down, reflect, reconnect with yourself, listen to your deep needs and initiate a new dialogue with your body and your life. They are designed to accompany a personal journey, offering space to evolve individually and collectively.
